The Council can provide three different types of grant each of which is intended to suit different circumstances. The emphasis is on improvements and repairs.

Renovation Loans are no longer available. With the exception of Disabled Facilities Grants, all other grants are discretionary. This means that local authorities make the decision to include each type of grant, or not, as part of their service to the public. Because of this discretion, some variations do exist from one Council to another.
